On February 27 through March 1, 2025, the University of California (UC), San Diego School of Medicine will host its 12th annual Essentials and Advances in Apheresis Therapies program at the Kona Kai Hotel.
The program is designed for a variety of medical professionals in specialties including nephrology and is designated for a maximum of 17.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. It will include lectures, hands-on workshops, and the opportunity to submit a challenging case for discussion by an expert panel.
Amber Sanchez, MD, is medical director of the Therapeutic Apheresis Unit and a clinical professor of medicine at UC, San Diego. Nephrology Times spoke with her ahead of the event about the use of apheresis in nephrology practice, advances in the field, and the importance of apheresis education.
