“The World Conference on Lung Cancer this year is going to be very important. It’s a monumental milestone for the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer, or IASLC … it’s the 50th anniversary of IASLC, which is a really important and incredible milestone to achieve,” Dr. Singhi said.

He spoke about the importance of the annual meetings and how they move the field forward.

“All of us come together at these conferences and are actively involved with this organization because we have one goal: to really improve the outcomes and improve the quality of life for patients with lung cancer,” Dr. Singhi said. “I’m really excited to be there to celebrate this monumental occasion with colleagues who’ve become dear friends, while we’re also getting to learn about updates and advancements and research for our patients with lung cancer.”

He also shared advice for those who are first-time attendees of the conference and highlighted the importance of networking and making connections.

“If this is your first time going to the World Conference on Lung Cancer, be sure to branch out beyond the Presidential Symposium sessions. Really lean into making those connections, meeting people, having those organic conversations,” he said. “I would love to meet any and all of you who are there as well and just exchange ideas, collaborate, and take back anything that we learn at the conference to our patients so we can better define practice and care for our patients with lung cancer.”
