Cumulative Stress Increases the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

A study found that higher cumulative stress is associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis and overall heart disease, including coronary artery disease and heart failure. The results, which were more pronounced in women and Black and Hispanics adults, were presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2023.
