Michael Grunwald, MD, Highlights Polycythemia Vera for Rare Disease Day

On Rare Disease Day, Dr. Grunwald of the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute, discusses caring for patients with polycythemia vera (PV), and where research is needed to improve the management of this uncommon blood disorder.

“As a field, we need to focus a lot of our research into ways to prevent transformation or progression of PV to more aggressive diseases,” Dr. Grunwald said.
