Dr. Mark Drazner, CardioNerds on Heart Failure Device Placement

By Rob Dillard - Last Updated: January 7, 2025

In this podcast episode, Drs. Hirsch Elhence and Mark Belkin of the CardioNerds are joined by expert faculty Dr. Mark Drazner, UT Southwestern, to consider a hypothetical case of a 72-year-old woman with a history of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and a recent myocardial infarction. The group answers the question of which heart device is indicated for placement for this patient. In order to do so, they reference Sections 6.1 and 7.4 of the 2022 AHA/ACC/HFSA Guideline for the Management of Heart Failure.
