Peter McCartney, MD, a cardiology research Fellow at Golden Jubilee National Hospital in the United Kingdom, talks with DocWire News about other trials involving alteplase, as well as research being undertaken at this medical center.
Among these trials looking at clinical outcomes in patients treated with alteplase versus placebo, and tenecteplace versus placebo. Another UK-based study looking at patients who present with normal angiograms but exhibit symptoms of angina (the researchers used coronary physiology to determine the presence of microvascular dysfunction. He also makes reference to the next steps for the CorMicA study that his group presented at TCT 2018, which looked at patients with microvascular angina and the absence of coronary stenosis.
